Yes. Our boards use FDA-approved mineral oil or food-grade beeswax finish, safe for direct food contact. The engraving is sealed with the same finish — no chemicals, no coatings. Re-oil every 2-3 months to maintain protection.
No — never put solid wood in the dishwasher. Heat and water damage the wood and cause cracking. Hand wash with mild soap, towel dry, and re-oil periodically. Properly cared for, an engraved board lasts decades.
